Horncastle, the gateway to The Lincolnshire Wolds and full of antique Shops, is only 5 miles away.Close at hand are lovely walks along the banks of the old river Bain, which may start or finish at the rated Ebrington Arms, the local Pub and Restaurant serving home cooked food

Thorpe Camp Visitor Centre

The Centre was built in 1940 as No.1 Communal Site for RAF Woodhall Spa and comprises Airman's Dining Halls, NAFFI and ration Store. Displays in the Centre are dedicated to the history of RAF Woodhall Spa and the Squadrons which operated from the Airfield; 97,619,617(Dambusters) and 627 Squadrons and civilian life in Lincolnshire during World War II.


Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre

The RAF BBMF began operations in 1957at RAF Biggin Hill with a Hurricane and three Spitfires, today some 60 years later, there are six Spitfires including P7350, the only remaining Spitfire to have fought in The Battle of Britain; two Hurricanes,a Douglas Dakota and PA 474, the world famous Avro Lancaster "City of Lincoln". One of only two remaining airworthy Lancaster aircraft in the world.


Jubilee Park

Jubilee park was presented to the people of Woodhall Spa in 1935 and has offered leisure and sporting facilities in a beautiful garden setting ever since. Facilities include heated open air Swimming Pool with Lido, Tennis Courts, Bowls Green,Putting Green, Croquet Lawn, large Children's Play Area and Garden Cafe.


Kinema in The Woods

Affectionally known as "The Flicks in the Sticks". Built in 1922 this cinema has the only back lit screen remaining in the UK. Home of the........... Organ, which is played every Saturday night during the interval.  New release films and live streaming available.


The Cottage Museum

The Museum is housed in a rare Victorian pre-fabricated corrugated iron bungalow, which was the home of  the Wield family from 1887-1964. It houses an extensive photographic archive of life in Woodhall Spa, depicting the village and the people who lived and worked in and around the local area. There are many interactive displays and activities for people of all ages to enjoy.



Ostler's Plantation

Large easily accessible woodland walks. Circular walks both short and long to suit every dog and human requirement.


Moor Farm Nature Reserve

Moor Farm is a mosaic of heath,dry and wet pastures, bog and woodland, on Fen edge sands and gravels. The woodland has developed from abandoned pastures over the last 80 years. There are a wide range of plants and animals, some of them now rare and localised in the area. Over 240 species of plant, 100 of bird, 24 of Butterflies and 250 species of Moth. Best visiting time April-August.


Kirkby Moor Nature Reserve

The reserve is the largest remnant of the once extensive heathlands of the Woodland District. A large proportion of the reserve is dominated by heather,bracken and wavy hair grass, together with moss and lichen communities. The southern part of the reserve is low lying and contains a lake. Oak, Birch and Pine form the woodland with developing Hawthorn and Birch.Sallow scrub with Rowan and Alder Buckthorn. There are 250 species of plants, 275 of  moths, 60 species of bird and  20 of butterflies.


National Golf Centre Woodhall Spa Golf Club

Golf has been played in Woodhall Spa for over 100 years and The Hotchkin Course has hosted many top national and international amateur events. England Golf acquired the site in 1995, to create an unrivalled national centre to be enjoyed by players of all standards. The second course The Bracken, has been built together with extensive practice facilities, which includes a driving range and one of Europe's finest short game coaching areas.


Brackenside Riding Stables

Brackenside Stables is a small family run riding school. Riding tuition is offered to complete beginners to advanced competitive riders, with BHS (British Horse Society) qualified experienced instructors.
